Angostura 5 Year Old rum is a blend of light gold rums, aged for a minimum of five years in used bourbon oak barrels and distilled in Angostura’s multi-column continuous still in Trinidad. Carefully filtered through charcoal before blending, this is a luminescent clear rum with subtle golden highlights. 

What's it like?

Colour: a golden luminescent colour with green and orange reflections on the edge of the glass

Nose: a strong, aromatic nose with light woody notes of coconut, caramel, lemon zest and a hint of vanilla

Taste: soft and delicate with nuances of tropical fruits, mangoes and banana

Mojito

60ml Angostura 5YO rum

1 brown sugar cube

15ml simple syrup

12-15 mint leaves

20ml fresh lime juice

2 dashes Angostura aromatic bitters

Soda water

Garnish: mint sprig

Glass: Collins

Method: in a Collins glass, muddle sugar cube and syrup; add mint and lightly press to release oils. Add lime, rum and bitters. Fill glass with crushed ice and swizzle. Repack with crushed ice and top with soda. Garnish with a mint sprig.
