Meet The Barons - Wayne, Armadale

We Are Not A Franchise, Or A Faceless Chain, We Are A Co-Operative Of Independent Retailers.

Here At Liquor Barons, The People Who Work In The Stores, Own The Stores. We are proud to be exclusively West Australian, and work hard to provide interesting and varied selections of booze to all of our locals around this great state.

To show you who we are, we've spent time going around and talking to our store owners and asking them about themselves, so that we can introduce them, to you.  You probably already know the people who run your local, but do you know the others?

Wayne has reached almost legendary status in our group.  Being immortalised by Bell Tower Times and Shakey Jakey was just recognition for his straight-shooting ways.  He's a great retailer, a grandfather twice over, and a lover of Jack Daniel's.  We don’t just mean a Jacks drinker.  “I started getting in to the you-beaut, top-end Jacks merchandise early on into owning the store, just over 15 years ago now.  We’re talking high-end wooden pieces – pool cue racks, mirrors and dartboards can you believe it… Pretty soon after that I was getting into the Jack Daniels racing gear and the Kelly brothers, and it sort of went from there.  These days I have a good amount of collector bottles for sale instore, and a wait-list on the rare and collectable merchandise.”

What Wayne doesn't know about Jack Daniels, probably isn't worth knowing anyway.  He is ridgy-didge.

Something you definitely didn't know:

Wayne has a 5 acre farm up in the hills behind Armadale.

Wayne: "I run some sheep up there, kangaroo, emu and donkey."

Us: "For meat?"

Wayne: [laughs] "No love - the sheep are predominantly lawnmowers, I got the Kangaroo and the Emu when they were babies, and the two donkeys are miniature.  The grandies love them."

This bloke has more layers than an onion.
