The photoshoot for the On The Vine catalogue is always a delicate operation. Due to print and artwork deadlines, we are planning the shoots for the upcoming seasons, often 4-6 weeks in advance - and hoping that we can make them look as seasonal as possible. On the 18th of May we did the winter On The Vine shoot at Trigg beach, and the weather looked like this:
Not that we were complaining, but it was a massive facepalm moment. ‘This was supposed to be a wintery shoot’.
The weather was so good, that at around 5pm, the beach began filling up with families and people ducking down after work to catch the sunset. It was pretty spectacular. That got us talking about winters in Perth, and how they really can offer up some glorious weather. It's not all clouds and storms.
Things aren’t always as they seem, and on that day, while we were working hard to give the idea of winter… we were actually shoeless, regretting wearing black because it was hot and not bringing hats... and we were a little bit giddy with excitement about All. That. Sun.
