We assume you’ll be having the odd toast or two throughout Christmas day. Here’s what we’ll be drinking… You’re more than welcome to join us!
Champagne Breakfast - Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label NV Brut
What’s Christmas morning without bubbles? Our pick is Yellow Label Veuve Clicquot NV Brut. With deliciously delicate flavours, we think it will be perfect with fruit at Chrissie breakfast.
Seafood Fest: Vasse Felix Sauvignon Blanc Semillon
Fresh seafood has become a staple of an Aussie Christmas down under. Whether its prawns and mango salad or a couple whopper lobster tails on the BBQ, you’ll want something complimentary to wash it all down. Sauvignon Blanc Semillon pairs excellently with ocean delights and Vasse’s SBS is the perfect candidate. Complex with hints of lemon candy, lychee and blackcurrant. Excellent for this hot Christmas.
BBQ Picnic – Heineken 3
A long day in the sun means you'd better come prepared with some suitable beers. Don’t be like Uncle Larry last year who made a fool of himself by tucking into the esky too early. Get yourself a smart, crisp and tasty beer that you can knock back on a long day catching up with the extended family.
Heineken 3 is the perfect beer with low calories and even lower carbs, you can focus on enjoying all that delicious BBQ meat – somewhat guilt free.
A mid-strength beer, Heineken 3 will keep you looking festive and merry with its Christmas colour scheme of a green bottle and red star.
Amelia Park Trellis Cab Merlot
Our favourite red meat partner is the Trellis Cabernet Merlot. Its got a big cedar nose good initial acidic raspberry flavour on the palate.
The length of flavours and finish and will make red meat flavours explode in your mouth after sipping back a glass.
Turkey Dinner - Howard Park Regional Range Flint Rock Shiraz
We rate this as the companion for a cooked bird. The welcoming ripe fruit notes of plums and dark cherries dusted with the scent of rose petals and red jelly crystals create a wine that will keep every drinker a the dinner table happy.
On the palate it settles down and richer fruit characters start to appear. A very appealing wine, well worth its great value price and perfect with white meats such as a Christmas stuffed turkey, pig or chook.
Brandy for the Pud - St. Agnes V.S Brandy
We couldn't forget our all time favourite moment of the 24 hours that is Christmas day. THE PUDDING!! Like us, you'll want a quality brandy for the pudding which compliments the sweet flavours within.
St. Agnes brandy is double pot-distilled brandy that's been created from specialty crafted base wines. The brandy is then rested for many years in oak casks to ensure the perfection of every bottle.
For a delicious Brandy Butter Sauce (for Pudding), melt the following on a low heat until it thickens.
· 300ml St Agnes Brandy
· 1 egg white
· 100g butter
· 200g caster sugar
Have a very special day catching up with your friends and family this Christmas and we'll catch you on the flip side!
