Your Ultimate Grand Final Checklist Subheading
Footy finals season is here and there’s electricity in the air. You can almost hear the roar of the crowd on the breeze… AFL finals season brings a glorious few weeks where the nation collectively holds its breath, waiting to see if their beloved teams will make the grade, and plans to celebrate (or commiserate) are made. No matter how you’re celebrating finals season, from hosting at yours, or heading to a mate’s place, we’ve got the goods to make sure your game plans are guaranteed winners.
An Aussie Classic: The Backyard BBQ
If you’re celebrating finals in the quintessential Aussie way, with the barbie sizzling, TV blaring, and eskies filled, make sure you stock up on all your game day faves. The key here is keeping it simple and satisfying. While the snags are turning, make sure you’ve got a slab of your favourite beer on ice. After all, beer really is the perfect, no-fuss companion to a day of sunshine, banter, and hopefully, a big win for your team.
A Proper Footy Lunch: Pies and a Perfect Pour
If you’re hosting a sit-down meal for your mates, the mighty meat pie is always the star. To elevate this Aussie classic, consider pairing it with an equally mighty spirit, or something sweet and bubbly to finish off your meal. These options are the perfect match for a classic pie, creating a combo that’s perfect for dissecting the highlights of the first half or debating the umpire’s call.
A Guest With The Goods: The Away Game Special
So, your mate has a brand-new TV and has graciously offered to host Grand Final Day. Your job is simple: don’t show up empty-handed. It’s the golden rule of footy finals etiquette. Showing up with a thoughtful contribution is the best way to thank your host for their hospitality (and their pristine new viewing screen). Some Aussie brews or a pack of crisp ciders is a champion move, and it shows you’ve put in the effort to bring something that everyone will enjoy.
Whatever your finals season looks like, your local Liquor Barons has everything you need to make it memorable. Swing by your local and stock up for the big games.
