Timon joined the co-operative in 2016, and brought with him an energy and commitment which has won him scores of loyal customers. With a Croatian heritage, and a great focus on local producers, Timon has an interesting take on the WA liquor scene. Close to the iconic UWA and nestled in the heart of the leafy riverside suburbs, Liquor Barons Nedlands has a wide range of drinks to suit all tastes.
We asked Timon for his drink recommendation:
“I’m from a Croatian background (and proud of it), so if you asked me about my favourite winery – it would definitely be Talijancich from the Swan Valley. [He holds up a bottle of Tali’ Julian James Solera Liqueur Shiraz]. This is from my birth year – 1980. But if we’re talking beers… for sure Feral Brewing Co, also out in the Swan Valley.
They brew a swathe of great beers, like Hop Hog (perennial favourite in here) and Karma Citra, but they’re also responsible for sought after, limited brews like Tusk, War Hog, Biggie Juice and the recent I am Froot. They’re so good – I love what they do. The reason why I wanted to give their beer, Perth Local the thumbs up, is because it is a consistently easy drinking, lower IBU (28), full strength beer. It’s avail only in Perth, for Perth people.”
