Smirnoff Subheading

Smirnoff brand began with a vodka distillery founded in Moscow by Pyotr Arsenievich Smirnov, under the trade name PA Smirnov in 1864. When Pyotr died, his third son Vladimir succeeded him and fled from Russia during the Revolution and re-established the brand in Europe in the early 1920s. Smirnoff vodka is now owned by Diageo, a British company, and is made in the USA, Canada, Great Britain, Italy, Australia, Jamaica, Brazil, Argentina, India, South Korea, Indonesia and Kenya.

Smirnoff Vodka

• Origin: Russia/France
• Type: Vodka
• Analysis: Smirnoff uses a unique distillation process that involves passing the vodka through seven columns of charcoal. This process filters the vodka ten times, ensuring that it is pure and smooth. Smirnoff takes great care to ensure that each bottle of vodka is of the highest quality.
• Tasting notes: The flavour is clean with faint black pepper and charcoal notes. There is also a subtle minerality with cracked black pepper spice and a faint sensation of peppermint freshness.
• Palate: Smirnoff Vodka has a soft palate with a touch of grain sweetness, but is mostly neutral.
• Aroma:  The aroma is mostly subtle, with a slight sweetness from the corn used as part of the base distillate. There are also some dusty grain notes present.
• Serving Suggestion: Served over ice in a tall glass with a splash of soda and a garnish of lemon or lime wedges.
