What makes you an Independent Spirit?
I’m redefining what people think of a violinist and have been described as the perfect mix of playfulness and class, leaving audiences with an entertainment experience to remember.
What’s the coolest thing that’s ever happened to you?
Performing for Queen Elizabeth the 2nd, important heads of state, alongside artists such as Rod Stewart, John Farnham, Olivia Newton-John, and Human Nature, as well as performances with the Western Australian Symphony Orchestra.
Favourite thing about WA?
The landscapes across WA, they are all unique and beautiful. You can drive in-land to find beautiful bushland and red dirt, and then drive to the coast where you’ll be taken aback by the greens and blues of the sea.
What’s on the cards for the future?
I want to continue arranging, writing the music, creating tracks, and collaborating with other musicians to build my company Varley Strings. It is exhilarating being centre stage, dancing, and playing the violin!
Where has the craziest place you have played?
A crazy place could be the Sahara Desert during my trip to Morocco, the pub in Russia, or on a sailing boat around the Greek Islands. I like to take my instrument everywhere I go.
