Ray Jordan’s Top 100 Red Wines 2026 Subheading
The 2026 Top 100 Reds celebrates Australia’s best-value red wines, with every bottle priced under $50. This year’s tasting highlighted the outstanding 2023 Western Australian vintage alongside impressive 2024 releases from across the country, reinforcing the impact that a great vintage can have on quality. Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz led the rankings, while standout examples of Tempranillo, Malbec, Sangiovese, Montepulciano and Pinot Noir showcased the diversity of Australia’s wine regions.
“The annual Top 100 Reds tasting to find the best wine selling turned out to be a real shootout between the 2023 West Australian vintage and the 2024 vintage from other states. It once again shows that vintage in Australia, really does make a difference.” Says Ray.
The Top 100 Reds offers a reliable guide to Australia’s top-performing reds, from everyday bargains to premium bottles that consistently overdeliver.

BEST OF THE BEST
“XANADU Continues a remarkable run of success for this wine in this annual tasting. There have been many outstanding examples of this wine in the past but this is as good as any that has passed my tasting bench.”

BEST VALUE
“DE BORTOLI DEEN – Incredible that a mature wine that still carries the elements of youth can be of this quality in this price category. It’s one to stock up on for the winter ahead. It’s surprising to see a wine like this with five years of bottle age on it.”
